Fun with the girls
Last night was the most fun I’d had in so long. I’d been focusing all of my attention to Rich and to work that it was time to play hard instead of work hard. I wasn’t out to pull – although I did have offers – I was out to have fun with the girls. We spent the night dancing in various clubs and rocking in with public free-for-all karaoke at a Japanese themed bar.
I must have arrived back to the apartment around 2am, climbing in to bed yet too tired to undress myself properly and just as I thought I was about to drop off, my phone bleeped. Me being me, I just has to check my phone. It was a message from Ben, my old manager:
“Tell me when you’re next in the area and I’ll have champagne waiting on ice for you”
I’ll admit that I’ve thought about Ben perhaps more than I should have, but I can’t help it. It was something about the way he kissed me. I’ve always been so used to “the heat of the moment” kind of passion, whereas he took everything so slow like he wanted to savour the moment.
I sat and thought about a reply for a while, sometimes my mind takes over and a message is sent before I’ve had the chance to think about it properly.
“What if I told you I’ll be in Manchester on Thursday for a few business meetings?”
He replied instantly, “I’d tell you to meet me at the Hilton Hotel, and that the second you’re in our hotel room I’ll show you how those ice cubes are supposed to be used…”
“See you on Thursday around 8pm. Text me the details…”
I wasn’t sure if doing this again was a good or bad idea but fact is I gave in to temptation then, and now the more I think back to that night, the harder it is to resist.
